Faith Resolutions
People of faith across the Appalachian region have often stated that mountaintop removal coal mining is a blight on God’s creation. More recently, this message has spread to the highest levels of several Christian denominations, which have passed resolutions expressly condemning mountaintop removal.
Although these denominations may differ on matters of faith, they are united in their desire to stop mountaintop removal.

Pass a resolution in your own Faith Community
First check to see if your denomination has passed a resolution at the national level.
-If so, organize a meeting with your congregation to review the resolution and discuss how to adopt it within your own congregation.
-If your congregation has yet to pass a resolution at the national level you can write your own resolution and get it passed. Once it has passed in your own church you can work with other congregations in your region to do the same!
