TELL YOUR ELECTRICITY PROVIDER — “NOT IN MY NAME!” — Click on this link, submit your zip code and choose “Take Action” where you can print out a letter – tailored to your own electricity provider – asking them not to do business with companies engaged in mountaintop removal strip mining. | |
DONATE WHERE IT’S NEEDED MOST — The most immediate way to help the people fighting to save their homes and mountains near McRoberts is to support Kentuckians for the Commonwealth. KFTC works with people to organize in their home communities across Kentucky, helping everyday community members become extraordinary community leaders. Click here to donate to KFTC. |

My parents were both born in Whitesburg, my mother lived and went to high school in McRoberts. I love the mountains. My mother hated seeing the strip mining as much as I do. The mountains and the streams are what make Kentucky special.
