Did Your Member of Congress Vote to De-fund Protections for Appalachian Mountains?
A big thanks to all those who urged their member of Congress to oppose three amendments to the House federal budget bill designed to give a green light to new mountaintop removal mines and exclude the EPA from the permitting of valley fills – the waste disposal sites for mountaintop removal mines.
Though the amendments passed, your efforts helped to gain many votes that would have been otherwise lost — and we now have the momentum needed to stop these anti-clean water amendments in the Senate.
