I extend sincere thanks to Hawaii Representative Colleen Hanabusa for signing on as a co-sponsor to HR1375.

Recently I met with her to explain the horrors of mountaintop removal, and to tell her of my deep, generations-long connections to Southwest Virginia, where I grew up. Right in the middle of our conversation, she got on the phone to instruct her D.C. staff to add her as a co-sponsor.

We're 5000 miles away, but I am eternally committed to the mountains of my home, and I thank you all - all the "I Love Mountains" staff, and all the others who care for our heritage. Even in the darkest of times, you give me hope.

Aloha,
Suzanne

I am proud and pleased that Kentucky's two Democratic Representatives are co-sponsors, and have been, pretty much, since the beginning.
However, our 4 Republicans are not in favor of this bill; they voted for HR2018: The "Cooperative Federalism" Dirty Water resolution. They are in coal country and the districts they serve are full of hard working people who are misinformed and fearful of no jobs. They are brainwashed in other words.
