Comments on: No More Excuses Mr. President, End Mountaintop Removal http://ilovemountains.org/news/3348 END MOUNTAINTOP REMOVAL COAL MINING IN APPALACHIA! The indians , our american indians love the land and where they have land in southern Alabama they drilled 532 wells ,only 2,000 feet deep each one. Once they dewater the well [suck the water out]the well gives up its methane gas.
The wells produce 30 million dollars each year and the public utility connects the wells with a pipeline. The project has one employee who mails out the royality , dividend checks to the investors.
What we do with the present process of destruction is “caveman” logic.

Scattered along the trail were warnings to stay on the trail, don’t touch the dirt, wash your hands often, don’t drink or even touch the water in the beautiful creeks. We rode past an 120 acre tailings pile – maybe 20 feet tall that had been there since 1929! I suspect there are many examples of similar warnings in the Appalachia Mts. We don’t need to scope th effects of the mining, transporting, storing, shipping, or burning COAL. King Coal has provided us with a plethora of examples of the significant adverse affect of relying on this source of energy. The captains of the coal industry and all fossil fuel addicts need to embrace the renewable energy clean team and LEAVE FOSSIL FUELS IN THE GROUND. Really! Most third graders could tell you that COAL is a bummer. Stop listening to the billionaires who want to make MORE MONEY

You have to do something to stop this situation and promote clean energies .
Thanks.
