EPA Guidance Revoked: Tell President Obama to Protect Appalachia
Earlier this week, a federal judge in D.C. ruled in favor of the coal industry, striking down important guidance that the Environmental Protection Agency had put in place to protect the health of communities and streams in Appalachia from mountaintop removal coal mining. You helped us generate over 60,000 comments to the EPA supporting stronger protections that are now in jeopardy. This week’s court ruling does not change President Obama’s ability – or responsibility – to stop the devastating impacts of mountaintop removal on Appalachian families and communities. Take action now and tell President Obama to stand by the Appalachian people and mountains and call for an end to mountaintop removal coal mining.
